What is Outreach?

Safe Haven has run an Outreach program for over 15 years. Outreach provides an opportunity for members to connect with a helpful resource without accessing the emergency shelter program.

The service is extended to anyone in need. We assist with: resume building, life-skills training, court proceedings, housing options, safety planning, and assistance with challenges stemming from trauma and/or abuse.

Outreach Workers

We currently have  outreach workers: two working with adults, and two with children. Using a trauma-informed approach, the team provides support, follow-up and outreach services to men, women, children, and gender non-conforming folks. The outreach worker with individuals to address the underlying causes of abuse in order to reduce rates of violence, and eliminate it altogether.

Safe Families Intervention Team Taber (SFITT)

Safe Families Intervention Team Taber is a community partnership between Safe Haven and: Child & Family Services, Taber Probation, Taber Police Service, Victim Services, Alberta Health Services, & RCMP.  The goal of this program is to provide services to encompass all family members who are exposed to family violence, to help prevent further violence.
