WHAT IS PUBLIC EDUCATION?
There are lots of attitudes that can lead to harmful and abusive behaviours. As frontline workers, we see how these attitudes effect how people treat themselves, and others. We believe that by encouraging people to rethink these attitudes, we can all learn together, rebuild our communities, and resist systemic violence. At Safe Haven, we encourage conversation and anti-violence advocacy through:
Workshops: Bystander Engagement, Consent, Communication, etc.
Presentations: Safe Haven Services, Abuse, Consent, Trauma, Safety.
Events: Abuse Awareness, PRIDE, National Aboriginal Day, Markets.
Partnerships: Taber Equality Alliance, Safe Families Intervention
Groups: Art Group (youth/adult), Healthy Relationships, etc.
Training: Anti-Oppression, Grounding Techniques, Abuse, etc.
Materials: infographics, booklets, trauma-info, worksheets, policy.
